ACCORDING TO EYEWITNESSES FROM THE CLASS STUDENT KROMAH HAD JUST COMPLETED A CALL ON HER PHONE AFTER WHICH SHE IMMEDIATELY STARTED CRYING WITH HER EYES ALL RED. "

Educational News: AME University Graduates 315
|
The African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Monrovia has graduated about 315 students following completion of various fields of studies.
At a well attended and colorful convocation ceremony held yesterday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, about 15 graduates earned Bachelor of Theology with Mr. Watson of Montserrado County and Victory Gbedee Wlue of Sinoe County scoring Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude respectively.
Five graduates received Bachelors of Religious Education, and 59 got Bachelor of Arts in Sociology while 33 were awarded degrees in Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Educational News: Another Honorary PHD For Ellen
|
Another University in the United States has conferred another Honorary Doctor of Law Degree on President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, a Press Release from Liberian Embassy in the U.S. said Monday.
At a special convocation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 23, the President of Marquette University, Robert A. Wild said the University’s consideration was based on President Johnson-Sirleaf’s commitment to ethical reform for the people of Liberia and to education, especially the education of girls.

Educational News: MCSS Takes Over West Point School
|
The only Public School in the Township of West Point, N.V. Massaquoi was yesterday turned over to the authorities of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) by the Ministry of Education.
By turning over the school, MCSS is expected to incorporate it into its school system having evaluation, administration and monitoring power. The occasion drew several dignitaries including the Superintendent of MCSS, Hester Williams, youth groups, District #1 Representative as well as officials of the township.
Before turning the school over to MCSS, it was renovated by the government of Liberia through the authorities of MCSS at cost of over US$37,000 “LAF MAG Construction Company” providing the expertise.

Educational News: Liberian Students Association in US gets legal status

After months of intense “behind the scene” struggles, the Liberian Students association in America (LIBSAA) has finally obtain its legal status to operate as a none-for-profit organization (501C) in the U.S.
Liberia has a history of a long standing relationship with the people of America which dates back to decades of years ago. Peoples of the two nations have interchanged trade, education, culture and other vital services that promotes human and infrastructure developments. There are many Liberians who have traveled in and out of the United States in search of academics, economics, social and political opportunities.
